Bristol-Ensemble

Henleaze Concert Society provides high quality classical concerts at affordable prices, performed by the Bristol Ensemble,
the city’s professional chamber orchestra.

Join the orchestra this season for a musical tour, with some distinctive music from across the Atlantic, and works that capture the essence of particular places. The series opens with Mendelssohn’s well-loved Hebrides overture, stops off for a visit to Florence in Tchaikovsky’s travelogue, and in 2020, we cross the pond to hear music by Copland, Barber and Gershwin.

We are pleased to welcome back the Bristol-based musicologist, composer and organist David Bednall who will give pre-concert talks. The talks are free of charge, and his fascinating insights give a fresh perspective on the works that you’ll hear.

All performances take place in Trinity-Henleaze United Reformed Church in Waterford Road, Henleaze, Bristol. This building is characterised by warm acoustics, a friendly atmosphere, and comfortable seating.

Treat yourself to a season ticket and enjoy the full series of concerts throughout the year. We hope that we shall have the pleasure of welcoming you to our Henleaze Concerts.
